Gielle carries out door fan tests in conformance with NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520 for engine rooms, computer rooms, tape storage, battery and UPS rooms, communications rooms, control rooms, and turbine rooms protected by FM-200, Novec 1230, Inergen, Argonite and other clean-agent
systems.
Eco-friendly firefighting agent for offshore application
Liquid foam concentrate, non-toxic and biodegradable, Cold Fire® is the only patented concentrated alcohol-resistant microbial firefighting agent on the market today. Once the fire is out or the spill is covered with finished foam, the microbes begin remediating the AFFF, hydrocarbon and alcohol wastes.
Cold Fire is designed for both class B hydrocarbon and polar solvent fuels. On Class B hydrocarbon fuels, it creates an aqueous film that effectively shuts down the fire. Cold Fire is U/L-162 listed with CE approval granted under the standard EN 1568-3.
Offshore Servicing / Integrated Maintenance
Gielle has a long and proven track record in supplying solutions for fire protection within the offshore oil and gas market. This experience and expertise is used in providing working solutions to difficult and contemporary environments. Complete design, supply, installation and commission, for both electrical and mechanical aspects. Gielle can also provide fire detection and fire suppression systems together with fire and safety equipment fully supported by annual maintenance service agreements. At the conception design stage Gielle can approach the client engineering team and discuss their detailed requirements for all their needs, offering views based on previous experience and knowledge of the types of hazards involved.

Offshore Portable Fire Extinguishers
Offshore Fire extinguishers
Offshore Water extinguishers
Suitable for Class A fires. Not considered effective for Class B and Class C fires, and dangerous if used for electrically energised equipment or cooking oils or fats.
Offshore Foam extinguishers
Foam Fire Extinguishers offer protection against Class A and B Fires that typically involve liquids or materials that liquefy such as petrol, oils, paints and fats. Foam extinguishers form a layer over the top of the burning substance and remove oxygen from the fire. Foam Fire Extinguishers may also be referred to as AFFF (aqueous film-forming foam)
Offshore Powder extinguishers
Powder Fire Extinguishers offer protection against Class A, B and C Fires and are a general multi-purpose extinguisher. Powder Fire Extinguishers are safe to use on live electrical equipment but the powder residue may also cause harm to some equipment. Dry Powder Extinguishers work as the Powder reacts with the fire and the powder spreads therefore extinguishing the fire.
Offshore Carbon Dioxide CO2 extinguishers
Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers offer protection against Class B fires that involve liquids or materials that liquefy such as petrol, oils, paints and fats. Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers discharge the extinguisher content under pressure which replaces the air surrounding the fire with the inert CO2 gas which does not support combustion therefore extinguishing the fire. Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers are safe for use on live electrical equipment. Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers do not leave a residue.
Offshore Wet chemical extinguishers.
Wet Chemical (F-Class) Fire Extinguishers offer protection against fires that involve cooking oil or fats. Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers also offer a small ‘A’ Fire Rating. No other type of fire extinguisher will be effective against fires involving cooking oil or deep fats.
Marine Novec extinguishers
The unique Novec 1230 Fire Extinguisher (6kg) uses a sustainable chemical agent that is electrically non-conductive, , reduce the risk of damaging sensitive equipment, leaves no messy residue and requires no clean-up. It has a completely non-magnetic stainless steel shell and non-magnetic valve, hose and nozzle, and can be safely used in an MRI room.
Offshore Halogenic
extinguishers
Older types of extinguishers may
still be encountered. These
include reversible soda acid and
foam type extinguishers together
with halon 1211 (BCF) type. Halon
1211 has been found to be an ozone
depleting substance.
Unless special exemptions have
been obtained, BCF extinguishers
have been banned and should be
returned to a fire protection
supplier or the fire brigade as
soon as possible.
